[Installation](https://hub.acctivate.com/articles/installation?hsLang=en) May 14, 2025 # How do I install Acctivate to the current version of Acctivate if my organization is running an older version ## If you installed the newest version of Acctivate on your workstation, but your company is not ready to update the Acctivate company database to the current version, you'll need to uninstall Acctivate from your workstation and reinstall the compatible version your organization is currently using. If your company is not ready to update the Acctivate database to the latest version, but you need to reinstall Acctivate on a workstation, follow these steps to uninstall the current installation and reinstall the same version:​ #### **Step 1: Determine Your Current Acctivate Version** 1. Open Acctivate on any workstation where it is functioning correctly. 2. Click on the **Help** menu and select **About Acctivate**. 3. Note the **Version** and **Build Number** displayed. #### **Step 2: Download the Matching Installer** 1. Visit the [Acctivate Resource Download History](https://docs.acctivate.com/docs/ResourceDownloadHistory.html) page. 2. Locate the installer that matches your noted version and build number. 3. Download the installer to the workstation where you plan to reinstall Acctivate. #### **Step 3: Uninstall Acctivate from the Workstation** 1. Close Acctivate and any related applications on the workstation. 2. Open the **Control Panel** and navigate to **Programs and Features**. 3. Find **Acctivate** in the list, right-click on it, and select **Uninstall**. 4. Follow the prompts to complete the uninstallation process. #### **Step 4: Reinstall Acctivate Using the Downloaded Installer** 1. When prompted, choose the **Workstation Install** option. 3. The installer will attempt to detect the Acctivate database server on your network. If it doesn't, manually enter the server name. 4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.​   #### **Step 5: Launch Acctivate and Verify Functionality** 1.
