Creating Jobs or Sub-Customers via Customer Import

Jobs and sub-customers can be created in Acctivate using the customer import (File > Import Data > Customer > Customer). To import a job or sub-customer, format the Customer Name in your import file as: 

ParentCustomer:JobCustomer

Example

To create Job123 under an existing customer ABC, enter the following in the Customer Name column of your import file:

ABC:Job123

Map this value to the Customer ID field during the import. Acctivate will create Job123 as a job under ABC.

Important: The parent customer must already exist in Acctivate before the import. If it does not, the import will return the following error:

Customer ID: Could not find parent record 

To resolve this, import or manually enter the parent customer first, then re-run the import.
