CYMA Edition server migration steps
These steps for CYMA editions only. QuickBooks users should not follow these steps.
- Install Acctivate on the new server.
- Open Acctivate Database Maintenance to create your Company.
- Select Database > Database Info to open the Database Information window.
- Select New Company to create a new company.
- Enter your CompanyID and Name.
- Acctivate Database:
- Select your SQL Server Database Source and enter your Database Name.
- CYMA IV Database:
- Select your CYMA Server Name and select your CYMA data path.
- Select Database > Backup/Verify to Restore from a database backup.
Local file paths should be configured for the PSQL Source (CYMA DDF Path) and CYMA data path. For example:
PSQL Source:
C:\CYMA\CYMA4\
CYMA data path:
C:\CYMA\CYMA4\CompanyName
Workarounds:
- Consider using SQL Server Management Studio to attach your database MDF/LDF files.
- Manually copy the Acct.ini file from the old server to the new server. Save the file in the following path: C:\ProgramData\Alterity\Acctivate
- Manually update the Acct.ini file with your new server information. All sources and file paths should be configured with local file paths only.
The PSQL databases must be listed in PSQL Control Center. Each "ACCTIVATECYMACompanyName" database should be configured with the corresponding CYMA directory.
In PSQL Control Center, right click the database and select "Directories". Add the directory location, which should be "C:\CYMA\CYMA4\CompanyName".
