Running Acctivate on a MacOS computer.

Acctivate is only available as a Windows app. You must run a Windows virtual machine on your Mac or connect to a Windows computer to run Acctivate.

There are three ways to run Acctivate on a Mac OS workstation:

  1. [RECOMMENDED] Parallels Desktop to run a Windows virtual machine on your Mac. The Acctivate workstation client will be installed on the Windows virtual machine and can run seamlessly with your other MacOS apps. NOTE: This option requires a Windows license for the virtual machine.
  2. Download Microsoft Remote Desktop from the Mac App Store. Connect to your server or another Windows-based computer on the network running Acctivate. This is the easiest way to run Acctivate on a Mac and the lowest cost if you have a Windows PC.
  3. Dual boot with Boot Camp. This option only supports older Intel Macs and requires you to shut down MacOS before booting Windows. NOTE: This option requires a Windows license for the virtual machine.
