Acctivate runs natively only on Windows operating systems.
Acctivate only supports Windows operating systems. However, there are three good methods to run Acctivate on a Mac OS X workstation:
- Download Microsoft Remote Desktop from the Mac App Store. Connect to your server or another Windows-based computer on the network running Acctivate. This is the easiest way to run Acctivate on a Mac.
- Buy VMWare Fusion or Parallels Desktop and run a Windows virtual machine on your Mac. The Acctivate workstation client will be installed on the Windows virtual machine. NOTE: This option requires a Windows license for the virtual machine.
- Dual boot with Boot Camp, which is included with Mac OS X. Boot Camp is included free, but requires you to shut down OS X before booting Windows. NOTE: This option requires a Windows license for the virtual machine.
