Exporting reports from Acctivate for editing or sharing.

Acctivate allows you to export reports for editing or sharing. This article will show you how to do this.

Acctivate has a couple of ways to export the report file depending on what you're needing to do. If you are wanting to edit the report or send it off for edits, you'll want to keep reading. If you're wanting to export the report for sharing, then click here to skip to that section of the guide.

Export .rpt files for editing:

These steps will differ depending on your Acctivate version. For 12.1 and higher, continue to read ahead. Otherwise click here to skip to version 12.0 and lower. 

Acctivate Version 12.1 and higher:

  1. In Acctivate, go to File -> Manage Reports
  2. Locate the report you need to export.
  3. Select the "Check out report" button.
    1. Check out
  4. Select the location in file explorer to save the report.

You can now open the .rpt file in Crystal report to edit or send the file to support or a consultant. To replace the report with the new file, repeat the above steps except choose "Check in report."

Acctivate Version 12.0 and lower:

  1. In Acctivate, run the report you'd like to export out.
  2.  Click on the "Export" button.
  3. Change the "Save As Type" to be .rpt

If this is a custom report, you can also just navigate to the \\SERVER\AcctivateData\CustomReports directory and locate the file there.

Export .ACCTRPT files to share reports

The steps will slightly differ depending on Acctivate version. For version 12.1 and higher, keep reading. For version 12.0 and lower, click here.

Acctivate Version 12.1 and higher:

  1. In Acctivate, go to File -> Manage Reports
  2. Locate the report file you'd like to share.
  3. Click the "Export" button.

  4. Save the file to your desired windows directory.

Acctivate Version 12.0 and lower:

  1. Open Configuration Manager -> Reports -> Report Catalog
  2. Locate the desired report you'd like to export. 
  3. Select the Export report button and choose the file location to save the ".acctrpt" file.
