What is GS1 and how does it relate to barcoding?
Some information on GS1 (UCC/EAN) and more.
GS1 is the organization responsible for defining and maintaining the global standards for the supply chain across many industries and sectors. GS1 manages many standards for barcoding, RFID and traceability.
GS1 was created by a partnership between the Uniform Code Council (UCC) and the European Article Numbering Association (EAN). The UCC joined EAN International, which was later renamed to GS1.
The Acctivate GS1-128 Shipping Labels use standard barcodes managed by GS1.
For more information about barcodes, check out our docs page.
