High resolution displays can sometimes cause text to be small. Changing the scaling can cause certain programs such as Acctivate to be blurry. Check this article for a fix.
Fixing small font:
When using a high resolution display Acctivate font may appear to be small and unreadable. To fix this you can change the scaling in Windows 10 and 11. To do that, follow these steps:
- In the windows search bar (accessible in the bottom left corner of the task bar, or by hitting the "windows" key) type in "Resolution" and choose "Change the resolution of the display" to open display settings.
- Under "Scale and Layout," ensure the option "Change the size of text, apps, and other items" is set to be the "Recommended. " This is the the best scaling for windows in terms of usability and accessibility. You'll also want the "Display Resolution" to be the recommended value as well.
- For example, a 4k monitor will want a scaling of 150% and a display resolution of 3840 x 2160 to take advantage of full capabilities of the monitor and also make fonts and programs readable.

Fixing Acctivate being blurry:
Sometimes in fixing the scale and layout of your monitor, certain apps may become blurry. There's a couple of different ways you can fix this. The first method is changing advanced scaling settings:
- Navigate to the the Windows display settings. (In the windows search bar (accessible in the bottom left corner of the task bar, or by hitting the "windows" key) type in "Resolution" and choose "Change the resolution of the display" to open display settings.)
- Choose the option "Advanced scaling settings" located under the "Scale and layout" section.
- In the Advanced scaling settings, turn on the "Let Windows try and fix apps so they're not blurry" option.
- Please note: We do not recommend setting "Custom scaling" values. Acctivate support will be unable to assist you with this.

After enabling that setting, try opening Acctivate and seeing if that fixes the blurry problem. For most users, this will fix the issue, but for a small percentage of users (mainly with large high resolution displays) this may not fix the issue.
If the first part didn't fix your issue, try changing high DPI settings:
- Right click on your Acctivate desktop shortcut (or wherever you launch Acctivate from.)
- Click on the "Compatibility" tab on the top of the window.
- Click on the "Change high DPI settings" option.
- At the bottom of the window that appears, check the "Override high DPI scaling behavior" and ensure the dropdown is set to "Application."
- Click "Ok" and exit out of the properties.
This should fix blurriness with Acctivate if the first set of instructions did not.
If you find that Acctivate is still blurry after these changes, you may need to contact your IT or the manufacturer for additional troubleshooting. You can also try custom scaling, refer to this article from Windows Central about enabling custom scaling.
