FAQs
Splitting transactions off into their own sessions.
Sometimes you may need to split a transaction off into it's own session due to the need to post one of the other transactions in the session. All transaction windows offer a "split transaction" button for this purpose.
New to 12.2 is split transaction buttons on all inventory transaction windows. You can use this button if you need to split off a certain transaction into its own session to allow you to post other sessions.
For example, let's say our vendor was originally going to send us two separate shipments for a particular receipts' session (denoted by two separate transactions on our receipt session) but shipment two has now been delayed and shipment one is sitting in the warehouse, ready to put up.
We can now split off transaction 2 to its own session to allow us to post our session for transaction 1 now, and then post transaction 2 later on.
- Open the session in question, rather it be a receipt, transfer, adjustment, balance adjustment or assembly.
- Select the transaction from the drop down that you'll need to split off.
- Click the Action button
- Select Split Transaction
- You'll receive a confirmation message. Just click Yes to confirm.
A new session will appear containing the split off transaction, allowing you to post the original session.
