Microsoft365 or Smartvault Must be Configured to Attach Documents Message

The title message means that Acctivate cannot attach documents to emails because no supported service is set up.

When you click the paperclip icon to attach a document in Acctivate and see the message:

"Microsoft365 or SmartVault must be configured to attach documents."

It means Acctivate needs a supported cloud storage or document management service to handle file attachments.

Choose one of these options to resolve:

  1. Use Microsoft 365 with OneDrive for cloud file storage (Recommended)
    Follow the steps in this article to Set up OneDrive in Acctivate.

  2. Use SmartVault for document management
    Learn how to Configure SmartVault in Acctivate.

  3. Use the Acctivate Notes attachment feature
    You can attach files directly in the Notes tab on transactions or records. See how.

⚠️ Note: If you frequently add attachments or attach larger items, such as images, cloud storage solutions are highly recommended. Attachments added via Acctivate notes are stored directly in your database, if not connected to a cloud storage solution. This can cause rapid database growth which can ultimately exceed the limits of SQL express.
