Foreign Language Characters are not printing correctly on reports
While Acctivate can be configured to support a variety of foriegn languages, certain characters may not be translated correctly to a printed hard copy. This article explains options for printing these reports.
If your report is displaying correctly on the preview window in Acctivate, but the characters appear broken after sending the report to the printer, you may be using a foreign language that is not fully supported by the font used on the report.
While the report will appear readable on the preview window in Acctivate, there may be times that you need to print a hard copy of the report. Before printing, you'll need to update the font to support the foreign language characters.
The best, long-term solution is to modify the Crystal Reports file to use a font designed for the foreign language (e.g., Noto Sans KR for Korean). Refer to our Crystal Reports for Acctivate guide to modify the reports. Select each field that needs to support
A quick workaround is to export the report to either Excel or Word from the preview window.
- In the top left of the window choose Open and then pick either Excel or Word.
- After the report opens in the selected program, press Ctrl + A on your keyboard to highlight all text.
- Select a font that supports the foreign characters. Now, you can print the report properly.
