Replace or add a company logo to forms
Adding a logo to your forms provides a personal touch. Follow these guidelines to ensure your forms print as expected.
First, ensure your logo is optimal for Crystal Reports:
-
Format: Crystal Reports supports various image formats, but JPG/JPEG is the recommended format.
- Dimensions: It is suggested that you resize the image before importing it into Crystal Reports. Windows includes a free Photos app which allows you to resize images and crop unnecessary white space.
- File size: For performance reasons, the image file size will ideally be under 100kb
Once you have your logo ready, it can be added into your forms using Crystal Reports.
-
Open the .rpt file (Crystal Reports report file) in Crystal Reports
- Use Insert menu to select Picture. Locate your logo file and select Open.
- You’ll see the outline of the image next to your mouse within Crystal Reports, left click the mouse to drop it on the report canvas.
- Move the image into place on the report.
- Finally, it's select File -> Report Options and check the option to Retain Original Image Color Depth. When this option is enabled, the image in the report keeps its full, original color information (e.g., 24-bit "true color" or higher), resulting in better visual quality, smoother color gradients, and more vibrant images.
